Hillcrest Ward Youth Thoughts From Youth Conference
What message would you send to
people to get others to follow Christ?
people to get others to follow Christ?
from Youth Conference?
Kelin
"The gospel of Jesus Christ is true. If we follow the Lord’s commandments we will be able to live with him again and get treasures beyond our greatest imagination. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and we should read it to learn the example of others that have already gone through life.
Youth Conference has taught me that we should go through trials and learn from them and don’t say that we don’t love the Lord and the gospel when He has given us a trial, but we need to endure through them."

"Choose the right! I learned to endure to the end! Stay positive no matter what you’re going through because it could always be worse. Follow your imagination and dreams, and stay on the path. I know that God gives us trials because he loves us, not because he doesn’t. He wants to know that we are able to overcome them. I love the Lord so much and I am so grateful for the gospel in my life. I don’t know where I would be without it. Whenever I am having troubles in my life or going through hardships, I know I can count on the Lord to help me through anything. I love the church!!!:)"

"Christ was perfect! Wouldn’t you want to be perfect too? To follow Christ does not mean to be perfect, but to try to be the best you can be, that is perfect in Christ’s eyes. And in the end isn’t that all that matters? I believe that trying to be perfect is as close to being perfect as long as you try your hardest. No one is perfect I understand that, but as long as you try that is all that matters in the end. I have learned a lot from Youth Conference, but one thing that I will never forget for the rest of my life is that no matter what, Christ is there to help you and as long as you do as much as you can then Christ will help as long as you are worthy and ready. Youth Conference was an experience that I will never forget and even when I am eighty-seven I will still try to remember my first year at Youth Conference. This has been an awesome experience for everyone I have talked to. I would like to say thank you to all the leaders who endured to the end and the people in charge of Youth Conference, you have done an awesome job on making this a GRAND experience."

"I have learned that we need to endure to the end, to meet as a team, walk as a team, eat as a team, and run as a team. Virtue is a very important characteristic and people are always watching you for an example.
I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I know that he did translate the Book of Mormon with the help of God and that my family couldn’t live eternally without the atonement. I love my family and I know that Thomas S Monson is a prophet of God."

"What I would teach people and what I have learned that has stuck in my mind the most prominent from youth conference is that we can’t just do or say or think the gospel. We need to BE what the gospel teaches. Envelope what you believe and don’t be a hypocrite!"
Lacey
"To be like Paul, I would use my experience with conversion to the true gospel to emphasize to others the difference between the quality of life I lived while living without the gospel compared to living in and under the covenant. This difference, I feel, would be the most obvious reason for someone to consider joining the church or changing their lives to be more consistent to the teachings of the church. One thing most people have in common is a desire to be happy and keeping the commandments and having the spirit in our lives is the easiest path to happiness."
Dylan
"I have learned to endure and that we need to always try your hardest, don’t give up, don’t be selfish, and don’t let everyone else do things for you. I know that Joseph Smith found the plates and translated the Book of Mormon; I know that it is true and that Joseph Smith suffered for it, and I loved seeing that portrayed in the Manti Pageant."
